PROGRAM (more details to come)

Shed 2 – PERFORMANCE
Join us as Shed 2 comes alive with a range of theatre performances, physical movement pieces and dance workshops. Join acclaimed performer Rutene Spooner for Pīpī Paopao, a performance weaving story and song, inspired by the unique characteristics of Aotearoa’s manu. Bring the kids as for a fun-filled journey with Te Mahi ā Rahi by Tainui Tukiwaho, a reo Māori play about the origins of Ki-o-Rahi, followed by a series of skill building workshops and a game with Ki-o-Rahi Tāmaki Makaurau. There will be dance and drama games for all to enjoy.

STORYTELLING GROVE
Tamariki of all ages are invited to join us in the magical world of the Storytelling Grove. Immersive yourselves in our converted theatrette and our storytellers take you on journeys across time, space and worlds. We hear from Jeremy Redmore with his brand new book Sing Like a Unicorn and the opportunity to hear stories in many different languages including Te Reo Māori and New Zealand Sign Language.

OUTDOOR STAGE
Our outdoor stage will host a range of exciting activities and performances including kapahaka by Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Kōtuku, all hosted by our MC Brady Peeti.

ARTS, CRAFTS AND MORE...
While our Te Pou whare might not be open on Whānau Day, we are taking over everywhere around it! You’ll find opportunities to create stories in our craftspace, as well as fun activities including Poi Making with Rehia. Our friends at Auckland Libraries are joining us with Mobile Waka where they will have games and a wide selection of books. Let off some steam on the Bouncy Castle and enjoy some kai from a range of local food trucks.

Ngā mihi nui to our supporters: Creative New Zealand, Foundation North, Auckland Council, The Trusts Community Foundation, Te Mātawai, Creative Henderson, Four Winds and Youthtown.
